Adulting and Preparing a Third Birthday Party

It’s no secret that life is busy and we struggle at times to fit it all in, being a parent, work, and just all round trying to adult like a boss (I know people like this and I am not one of them). I have days where I just don’t want to get out of bed, let alone organise myself and a small child, do the washing, work, and get dinner on the table. So trying to organise an Instagram worthy birthday party just seems like bloody hard work, but we do it anyway. Truthfully we know if we don’t post it on Instagram someone else will and if it's not awesome you will look like you totally suck at...

Our Quirks

We have been MIA for a few weeks. We have been working on some new ideas. Part of TWC is about sharing who we are and our little 'big' life together. We have quirks and funny little things that make us 'us', so here's to sharing some of these....   Shay....   My favourite colours are Tiffany blue and blush pink.  Churros and chocolate are my weakness.  I love wearing heels.  I used to be afraid of the dark but I now pump myself up by saying things like 'come and get me, I'll take you down' when I get up in the middle of the night. My sport of choice would be dancing but I also love to run...

Summer Love

Sand, sun(screen), and mountain climbs. Our wild adventures continued with our annual summer camping trip. We cherish spending time with family and friends, what better way to do it than unplugging and enjoying nature.  We enjoyed fun at the lake and Everly learnt how to dive under the water. She had the 'once you pop you can't stop' mentality and spent a whole afternoon diving under.  The girls (the big girls that is) kept themselves amused for an afternoon on the beach doing handstands and cartwheels. Those shots don't need to be shared hehehe.    The camping essentials, as mentioned in our previous post, no nasties sunscreen and mozi spray. We could not camp without these two things and I...

Ready for Our Summer Adventure

We can almost smell the sweet salt air and the feeling of sand on our mattress. Wait, what?  That's right, it's almost time for our annual beachside camping trip. Every year, for the past 15 years, We have taken time off to enjoy a camping trip up north. Usually we stay somewhere along The Lakes Way, a little slice of heaven. Filled with palms and quiet beachside getaways, we opt for the relaxed approach of camping (I know some of you just laughed but once you are there, and set up, it's totally relaxing).  So how does one prepare for this said camping trip?  Shay's Top Tips: Write a list of everything you think you need to take and...

The Simple Adventures

A day of fishing to a two year old is like a Contiki tour for twenty year olds. We get caught up in the craziness of life and the business of expectations, making most of us crave adventure and excitement.  Often we feel the need to plan a big overseas holiday or jump from a plane to find adventure. There are simple adventures we can take to feel that sense of excitement and fun; a little outdoor fun and a fishing trip is one of these.    Evy was so excited about the prospects of fishing that she gigged the entire morning as Dean planned their day. They explored our garage to find our fishing rods and they packed...
